 At Desert Dogs K9 Search and Rescue Recovery, we are committed to educating students and community members about the value and importance of volunteerism. 

Volunteering is a rewarding way to give back to your community while gaining valuable volunteer hours, developing new skills, building confidence, and creating lasting friendships.

Our educational outreach programs provide insight into how Search and Rescue K9s work, the many reasons individuals may go missing, and the critical role trained volunteer teams play during search operations.

 We also discuss how volunteer experience can help open doors to future career opportunities in public service, emergency response, animal care, and related fields.

Participants have the unique opportunity to meet our dedicated K9 team members and learn firsthand about their training, abilities, and operational roles.

 Desert Dogs K9 Search and Rescue Recovery is committed to educating the public and local communities about the vital role of K-9 Search and Rescue. 

We provide information on how search and rescue operations work, what steps to take when a person goes missing, and opportunities for Search and Rescue (SAR) training and education.

We are also seeking volunteers to assist with training our K-9 teams by serving as training “hides” during search scenarios. This hands-on support is invaluable in helping our K-9s develop and maintain their operational skills.

 Desert Dogs K9 Search and Rescue Recovery is proud to offer the NASAR Hug-A-Tree and Survive program to schools, youth organizations, and community groups throughout our region. 

This nationally recognized educational program is designed to teach children and families important outdoor safety skills, including what to do if they become lost in the wilderness or separated from their group. 

Through engaging presentations and hands-on learning, participants gain valuable knowledge that can help prevent panic and improve survival outcomes.

Our team is committed to community education, preparedness, and public safety while helping build confidence and awareness in outdoor environments. Presentations may also include demonstrations and opportunities to meet our trained K9 search and rescue dogs, allowing participants to better understand how search and rescue teams work together to locate missing persons.
